Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney discusses the shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington DC and how it has caused a “larger discussion” about US immigration.
“This is an extraordinarily unusual circumstance … the alleged murderer now, supposedly worked with us in Afghanistan, fought on our side against the Taliban,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.
“It probably shouldn’t surprise anybody that a very high-profile terrible event in Washington DC, so close to the White House … is causing sort of a larger discussion about our immigration programs.
“There’s going to be a lot of focus on this particular event, and I think rightly so.”
