Remembering AED Steps ⚡ #RN #BSN #futurenurse

POWER, PADS, PLUG ⚡????

→ AEDs have been made in a way that we can often follow the prompts, but we have to remember the correct steps to use it!

You can think: Power, Pads, Plug to remind you of these 3 main steps
#1 → Power ON the AED machine
#2 → Apply the pads to the patient’s bare chest (use a razor to remove excess chest hair, wipe a wet chest dry, or remove any medication patches prior)
#3 → Plug the pads in!

⭐Make sure everyone is CLEAR of the patient while the machine analyzes the heart rhythm and delivers the shock, if the rhythm is shockable.
